D&I Beads
Supply List:
• Supplemax or Nymo size B or D thread
• Two colors of 6/0 seed beads
• Two 2” or 3” headpins
• Two beadcaps or cones
• Single strand clasp (ie: toggle, magnetic clasp)
Steps:
1. Cut a yard of thread. Do not knot the end.
2. Thread on 4 inner beads and 3 outer beads.
3. Starting from the tail end of the thread, go through the first 4 inner beads and pull tight to make a circle. Be sure to leave at least 4 inches of a tail at the end.
4. String on 1 inner bead and 3 outer beads.
5. Go back through your newest 4 inner beads, working away from the tail end.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you get the length you need for your bracelet.
7. If you need to add on thread…
a. Cut another thread, at least 1 yard long.
b. Attach by tying a square knot as close as you can to the bracelet.
c. Once attached, tie one more knot for security.
d. Cut your extra pieces and continue step 6.
8. To tie off the ends of the bracelet, go through the last two inner beads on the end of your bracelet, but do not pull tight. Instead, take your thread through the loop you just made twice for a surgeon’s knot. Repeat this step for another loop.
9. Repeat step 8 for the other side of your bracelet.
To add the clasp:
1. Put your headpin through the last two core beads, keeping the head on the inside of the bracelet.
2. String on your beadcap and one seed bead, then wire wrap your clasp on the headpin above the seed bead.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side, and you are done!
